Barefoot Physio philosophy was born out of the desire to depart from the large rehabilitation clinics conveyor belt fashion of high patient turnover. Choosing quality over quantity, its owner James Morgan had aspirations of a physiotherapy practice which would be truly different from all the rest, where patients would be able to receive complete and premium physical therapy treatment.

Not all manual therapists and clinics use medically approved methods to diagnose and treat their patients. Some employ ‘alternative’ therapies which have not been tried and tested in a scientific manner.

At Barefoot we do not agree with using methods which do not a have sound scientific basis behind them. Our approach is concerned with treatment from a strong evidence base, underpinning all that it does with proper science. It recognises other less definable factors also play a role beyond academic and scientific therapy. These other qualities are the blend of experience, knowledge, skill and how these are delivered to the patient.

James goes the extra mile by transferring his knowledge to patients, empowering them to understand how to deal with their injury. Understanding the condition is centred on patient education and self management to achieve long lasting results. Barefoot sessions typically include videos and pictures of the exercises that will help aid their recovery. These are provided so patients can see first hand how to correctly perform the exercise at home. This patient-therapist connection adds to the speed and quality of the treatment progress.

After careful evaluation of your history, symptoms and examination findings, James will work out how your problem fits together in the overall scheme of your body; he then outlines a strategy to solve these issues.

James specialises in the management, treatment and prevention of pain and dysfunction. He also has a keen interest in Crossfit injuries and exercise performance optimisation.
