Mike runs his service through the Barefoot studio and gym space focusing on functional movement personal training and movement health.
Mike started his movement health journey in 2008; initially training and practising the sport of parkour. This led him into coaching at Exeter Gymnastics Club and later exploring Calisthenics and Crossfit strength training which fuelled his interest in fundamental movement principals.
In 2012 Mike met his mentor James Morgan, who saw the potential to use Mikes passion and self-taught understanding of movement to help him develop an evidence-based training method; the Movement Health Method. A well structured, research-based training method that focuses on restoring essential human movement patterns, fixing common sports and life ( age ) related injuries, restoring functional range of motion and improving overall strength and joint health; suitable for all, regardless of age or ability.
Mikes clients include national athletes, business owners, coaches and everyday people who just want to move better and feel better.
Mike is a conscientious and diligent trainer who finds out about his clients needs and adapts his training to suit them. I’d recommend him for anyone who takes their training seriously. – G.P. – EXETER CHIEFS Athlete
